S106 funds to support homeless provision in Knowsley
5 Dec 2024
The latest application for new homes at Halsnead Garden Village has been approved by the Council’s Planning Committee.
Bloor Homes Ltd submitted an application for 208 new homes on land off Windy Arbor Road, south of Whiston. This includes 104 three-bedroom homes and 104 four-bedroom homes.
The application is the second part of a hybrid planning submission by Bloor Homes, which received outline planning consent from Knowsley Council in 2021. There are 123 Bloor Homes currently under construction as part of the Halsnead Garden Village development.
Up to 25% of the properties will be made available for affordable housing.
The first Bloor Homes were completed in early 2022 and have since been welcoming the first Halsnead Garden Village residents.
Once complete, Halsnead Garden Village will include approximately 1,600 new high-quality homes.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “Having visited the first new homes at Halsnead Garden Village I’m confident prospective new residents will be delighted to be part of this new community and proud to call Halsnead Garden Village home. The homes will be surrounded by well maintained and accessible green space while the access to employment and services will ensure a high quality of life for residents.”
The largest combined housing and employment site in the Liverpool City Region, Halsnead Garden Village will include a major new employment site, currently under construction, on the site of the former Cronton Colliery.
Halsnead Garden Village will also provide 33 hectares of new greenspaces and a new, 28-hectare, Country Park.
