Symmetry Park
Symmetry Park will deliver up to 1,000,000 sq ft of new storage, distribution space and offices in the south of Halsnead Garden Village. Work is well underway on a new 161,000 sq ft logistics facility. The employment space at Halsnead Garden Village is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs.
Whiston Station
Directly linked to Halsnead Garden Village with a pedestrian footpath and cycleway, the station operates direct and regular services to Liverpool and Manchester.
Country Park
Situated on the site of the former Cronton Colliery, in the south of Halsnead Garden Village, the new country park delivered by The Land Trust will include the creation of a sculptured landscape, with a series of multi-user routes, including crossings over a newly created wetland area. The park will also feature a visitor centre with reception, café, education space, ranger officers and an outdoor terrace area, construction of an outdoor classroom canopy and a sky room.
Bloor Homes
The first developer to complete new homes in Halsnead Garden Village, the first residents moved in in 2022 with the remainder of the development ongoing. Once complete the development will include a collection of 331 two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Windy Arbor playing fields
Home of Whiston Juniors FC, improvements will include a new car park, sports pavilion, changing facilities and upgraded drainage for the pitches.
Big Water
Big Water will be enhanced to become the main focal point of the green space. Access will be improved to ensure people can enjoy this beautiful space. Habitat improvements will be made for birds and other species. The lake will be improved for anglers, with new fishing pegs installed.
Taylor Wimpey
Work is well under way to build a collection of 350 three and four-bedroom homes in the east of Halsnead Garden Village.
Old Wood
This area of ancient woodland will be enhanced and made more accessible to the public, with new paths, seating areas and viewing platforms installed.
Long Lake
Long Lake will benefit from a new network of paths, new planting of semi-mature trees and new wildflower meadows. Historic viewpoints will be reinstated.
Mellors Pond
Mellors Pond will be redeveloped with clearance of weeds, reshaping and a better-defined edge. There will be new footpath access and new fishing pegs.
Forth Homes
Forth Homes Construction has received outline planning permission for 43 new homes on land at Windy Arbor Brow and Windy Arbor Road in Whiston. The homes will consist of 14 one and two bedroom-apartments and 29 two, three and four-bedroom houses. The houses will be a mix of detached, semi-detached and a terrace, together with a 3-storey apartment block. All but one of the new homes will be available for affordable housing.
Your Housing
Outline planning permission has been granted to construct up to 377 new dwellings, all of which will be made available as affordable housing. This includes up to 100 apartments to be used for retirement living (over 55s).
Stadt Moers Park
The park covers more than 220 acres of land between Whiston and Huyton and includes meadow, woodland and pond habitats, set amongst a network of footpaths.
Tarbock Island
Connects M57 to the north and south and M62 to the east and west. Approximately 15 minutes to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and 30 minutes to Manchester Airport.
