Halsnead Garden Village employment site progresses as final plans approved for next phase
13 Dec 2024
One of the housebuilders involved in the Halsnead Garden Village development is lending their support to the Knowsley Flower Show.
Taylor Wimpey is supporting a range of community events and organisations in and around Whiston, and has sponsored the General Cut Flowers and Dahlias categories in the show, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, recently visited the show home at Taylor Wimpey’s Fox Wood development at Halsnead Garden Village.
Cllr Powell said: “We are so excited to bring the Knowsley Flower Show back for its 25th year. Thanks to support from sponsors such as Taylor Wimpey we are able to keep the event free of charge for our local communities.
“We have an incredible weekend planned, with the Knowsley Feelgood Festival taking place on Saturday and the Flower Show on Sunday, demonstrating to local residents – and indeed future residents – what a vibrant and exciting place Knowsley is to live.”
Organised by Knowsley Council, the flower show is a much-loved local event which is celebrating its 25th year. Over 25,000 people visited the event at Court Hey Park in 2022 and the council is expecting a similar turnout this year.
Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We try to support local communities wherever we build, so to be working closely with Knowsley Council and sponsoring this year’s Knowsley Flower Show is a real privilege for us.
“It’s fantastic that such a big event for the region remains free for visitors and we hope our sponsorship has played a small part in that. We look forward to seeing all the colourful entries and hope to see some of our customers there on the day.”
