First show homes launch at Halsnead Garden Village

The first show homes have officially opened their doors at Halsnead Garden Village.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council and Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, cut the ribbon at the new Bloor Homes Elowen development along with one of the first homeowners.

Raheema Sheikh was the first buyer to view the new Bloor Homes, which have proven extremely popular since going to market.

Raheema said: “It’s so exciting to see the new showhomes and officially cut the ribbon to them. The development is set in such a beautiful location with great access to the motorway links.

“The showhomes themselves are absolutely fabulous and I’m looking forward to moving in as soon as it’s ready.”

Halsnead Garden Village was one of 14 sites to be awarded Garden Village status by the Government in 2017.

Once complete Halsnead Garden Village will consist of around 1,600 new high-quality homes, which will make it the largest combined housing and employment site in the Liverpool City Region.

Together with new homes and over 22.5 hectares of employment land, Halsnead Garden Village will also provide 33 hectares of new greenspaces and a new, 28-hectare, country park.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said: “I was delighted to meet some of the first families to be moving into Halsnead Garden Village. The development will provide much needed new family homes for new and existing residents of our borough and I’ve no doubt they’ll be very proud to call Halsnead Garden Village their home.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “It’s exciting times for Halsnead Garden Village, seeing the first completed homes and meeting some of the new residents who will be moving in. Once complete Halsnead Garden Village will become the largest combined housing and employment development in the Liverpool City Region. The 1,600 new homes will be surrounded by well maintained and accessible green space while the access to employment and services will ensure a high quality of life for residents.”

Lucy McCabe, Sales Director for Bloor Homes, said: “Elowen is a particularly special development for us, as it will be part of just a handful of garden villages scattered throughout the country.

“We were delighted that Raheema, some of her family, and Councillors Morgan and Brennan were able to officially open the show homes for us. We even had lovely weather so it was lovely to spend a bit of time outside admiring the green open space too.”
